From the attendee's standpoint the Logon component is simple and familiar—it's the part of the app that asks them to log in. Its simplicity conceals its power though, for requiring attendees to log in not only secures the app, but also enables it to track and save attendee-specific data. This, in turn, allows the app to include components that use attendee-specific data, such as Messaging and My Schedule.
The Logon component protects the app content from unauthorized access, and enables the app to include features that store data on a per-attendee basis, such as My Schedule and Game Center.
The Logon component is automatically added to all apps and cannot be removed, although it can be disabled. Unless you disable the Logon component, you must include the Attendees component to create app user accounts.
