Using location-based services through beacon technology, this component provides attendees the ability to either check-in to a session or receive featured content within their app simply by being in proximity of beacon.
Whether it's by receiving strategically placed promotions that automatically load to their device or through the simplicity of checking into a session by just entering a room, Beacons will offer your attendees a new level of interaction with their app.
If you buy beacons in the same bundle they will have the same UUID but you can only use a maximum of 20 different UUIDs per event. Major (all beacons in a room will have this number) and minor numbers (indicate each individual beacon)
You can set a beacon to Immediate (0 - 0.5m), Near (0.5 - 7m) or Far (+7m).
What happens in the app
Location-based promotions
With the app closed: When walking within proximity of a beacon, a notification will be sent to the device letting the attendee know that a document is available for viewing. That notification will include the option of declining the file, or opening it for review. Should the attendee opt to review it, the app will open and another confirmation will appear which, when accepted, will open and show the file.
With the app open: When walking within proximity of a beacon, a notification will appear in the app that lets the attendee know that a document is available for viewing. The attendee will be presented with the option of reviewing it, which will immediately open the file, or declining the file entirely.
Proximity-based session check-in
With the app closed: When walking within proximity of a beacon assigned to an open session, a notification will be sent to the device letting the attendee know that the session is available for check-in. That notification will include the option of ignoring or checking in. Should the attendee opt to check-in, the app will open and another confirmation will appear which, when accepted, will check the attendee in.

Note: In both cases, a session must be open for check-in in order for it to be recognised by the beacon.
