Apple requires any application be signed with a digital signature for either submission to the App Store or hosting on an in-house webpage. In order for Lumi to sign an application, a certificate is required from when your company first configured the Apple Developer program. This guide will outline the steps required to identify and extract the correct certificate from your local machine.
Important: This certificate may not be downloaded from the Apple Developer
- Open the ‘Keychain Access’ utility on the machine for which the certificate was installed
Keychain Access may be launched from the Utilities folder located in your Applications directory or by using the spotlight feature and searching for “keychain”.
- Locate the Apple Distribution certificate & key
Filter the list of available certificates by selecting login and My Certificates from the left column.
- Identify the certificate specific to your Apple Developer program
The correct certificate will contain the words “iPhone Distribution:” followed by Apple Developer program name.
- Extract and send the certificate/key pair
Right-click on the certificate, not the key (identified by an icon to the left of the text), and select the Export option
