The navigation option you select defines the appearance of the main menu in iOS and Android apps, which determines how attendees navigate the app. All components support both navigation options, so which option you select is a matter of preference.
Note that Mobile Web apps are not affected by this option—they display a list-style menu regardless of your choice.
Slide-out navigation
In an app with slide-out navigation, attendees navigate using a scrollable slide-out menu. This option is faster to use than 9 icon navigation if your app includes a lot of components. The top of Slide-out navigation works in the following manner:
- From any screen in the app (with a few exceptions, such as a Live Insights poll), the attendee touches the menu button at the top left of the screen. The slide out menu appears.
- The attendee scrolls through the menu and locates the component they want to open.
- The attendee touches the component icon.
Slide-out navigation logo option - All platforms
You can display your event logo at the top of the slide out menu by enabling the Include my logo in the slide-out navigation option. The image used is the Logo image selected and uploaded through the Brand interface.
9 icon navigation - Only for iPhone and Android, not Mobile web or iPad
In an app with 9 icon navigation, attendees navigate using a menu screen displaying component icons. If your app includes more than nine components, the main menu is divided in multiple pages with each page containing up to nine icons each. Attendees swipe left and right or use the left and right buttons to navigate between menu pages. The top of each page displays the Logo image defined the Brand interface.
9 icon navigation is the fastest method of navigation if your app has few components. If your app includes more than nine components, you may want to use slide-out navigation instead so that attendees do not have to search through multiple menu pages to find the component they want.
9 icon navigation works in the following manner:
- The attendee touches the menu button to open to the main menu.
- The attendee locates the component they want to open. If component is not on the first page of the menu, the attendee can swipe left and right or use the left and right buttons to navigate between menu pages.
- The attendee touches the component icon.
